How Intracept Works
The basivertebral nerve penetrates the vertebra at the posterior aspect of the vertebral body and extends toward the endplates at the upper and lower surfaces.Where those endplates suffer damage, these nerve endings multiply and become more sensitive to pain signals, which travel to the brain through the basivertebral nerve.Intracept alleviates this vertebrogenic pain by applying heat to the basivertebral nerve with a radio frequency probe, interrupting its ability to transmit those signals.
After Your Procedure
Most patients return home the same day. Some soreness at the treatment site is normal in the days following.Significant improvements develop within 3 months and are sustained more than 5 years. Normal activities resume relatively quickly.
Is This Right for You
